bd’s Mongolian Grill Raises More Than $25,000 for Folds of Honor Foundation
Company’s Memorial Day Campaign Helps to Support Families of Veterans

Burnsville, Minn. (June 2017) — In an effort to support the spouses and children of United States fallen and disabled military members, popular create-your-own stir-fry restaurant bd’s Mongolian Grill raised $25,761.93 through a Memorial Day fundraiser, which benefited the Folds of Honor Foundation.

Folds of Honor is a non-profit organization that works to provide educational scholarships for spouses and children of fallen and disabled service members. During the fundraiser, bd’s sold $2 pin-up slips in exchange for $5 gift cards valid toward another visit to the restaurant. All of the campaign donations and 10 percent of bd’s sales on Memorial Day went directly to Folds of Honor.

“Bd’s is proud to contribute to the Folds of Honor mission,” said Joe Phraner, President and COO of bd’s Mongolian Grill. “It’s rewarding to know that we are helping to provide educational scholarships to help our nation’s heroes and their families.”

In 2016, Folds of Honor awarded more than 3,600 scholarships, contributing to the 13,000-plus scholarships granted since 2007.

“We are so thankful for bd’s Mongolian Grill’s donation and commitment to our cause,” said the founder of the Folds of Honor Foundation, Major Dan Rooney. “We couldn’t do it without amazing patrons like them driving our mission to support the families of those who have done so much for our great nation.”

In 2016, bd’s raised a total of $54,482.78 for the Folds of Honor Foundation, funded through a combined effort of its Memorial Day campaign, sale of special edition Bud Light cans, and Veterans Day campaign.

On behalf of the entire bd’s Mongolian Grill team, we would like to thank all military families for their service, bravery and sacrifice. Without their contributions we would not have the safety or security to continue our business in this country they’ve protected. At bd’s Mongolian Grill we strive to make Community one of our Core Values. We believe it is crucial to give back to the people who make our business possible. This year, we are very proud to continue a partnership that will help us do just that.

Starting May 15th we will host our second annual Memorial Day campaign for Folds of Honor. We will be raising funds for Folds of Honor at bd’s Mongolian Grill and you can participate in two simple ways:

First, May 15th – June 2nd we will be selling pin-up slips in each of our restaurants. For a donation of $2 you can purchase a pin-up slip and proudly Stand With The Folds; to thank you for your $2 donation we will give you $5 gift card, good toward future food purchases at bd’s Mongolian Grill. All donations will go directly to Folds of Honor.

Secondly, on Memorial Day we are donating 10% of our Total Sales to Folds of Honor. Just by dining with us, 11am-10pm you can contribute to the cause.

bd’s Mongolian Grill is proud to always offer a 15% Military Discount. Military ID or proof of service required.

Folds of Honor is a non-profit organization founded by Major Dan Rooney. Of the one million-plus dependents adversely affected by deployments, nearly nine out of 10 do not qualify for federal scholarship assistance. Since 2007, Folds of Honor has carried forth this singular, noble mission: Honor their sacrifice, educate their legacy. To close the gap, providing educational support to spouses and children of America’s fallen and wounded soldiers. We hope that you will join us and that you inspire others to do the same. Again, thank you so very much for your service.
