bd's Mongolian Grill Invades Hampton, Va.!
First Virginia location brings fun, interactive, create-your-own stir-fry restaurant to Peninsula Town CenterHAMPTON, VA. - bd's Mongolian Grill is opening its newest restaurant on Thurs., Dec. 17, in Hampton, Va., coupled with a $1,000 donation to the Foodbank of the Virginia Peninsula. The interactive, create-your-own stir-fry restaurant is located on Von Schilling Drive in the Peninsula Town Center. With 35 restaurants throughout the U.S., this location is the first bd's to open in Virginia.
"We are thrilled to bring this unique dining experience to the Hampton area," said Rodger Head, president and chief executive officer of bd's Mongolian Grill. "We are particularly excited about belonging to the Peninsula Town Center. This modern, upscale shopping center will bring a new level of excitement to the area."
Restaurant Concept:
bd's Mongolian Grill is a leader in the "Asian Grill" dining segment, recognized in recent restaurant industry trends as a popular niche appealing to young families. The restaurant provides a casual dining experience in an energetic atmosphere where guests choose their ingredients from a large variety of meats and seafood, fresh vegetables and flavorful sauces to create their own unique stir-fry. After guests gather their food, they watch their creation being grilled to perfection Mongolian style on bd's signature 6-foot diameter flat grill. bd's provides healthy food choices for those with special dietary needs such as gluten-free, low sodium, vegetarian and allergy-free requirements.
Size and Decor:
bd's hired 149 employees for its new 6,700-square-foot Hampton location, which seats approximately 174 guests in its distinctive environment with an array of lively Mongolian photography and decor. Numerous pieces of original art from the "Mon-Ael" Mongolian Cultural Center for the Arts (created by several Mongolian artists residing throughout the United States) provide special flair to this restaurant's personality.
Community Giving:
Serving the local community is core to bd's culture. To kick off this commitment in the Hampton and Peninsula communities, bd's will donate $1,000 to the Foodbank of the Virginia Peninsula, a charitable organization that manages and distributes purchased and donated food and grocery products to charitable agencies that directly help the needy. In addition, bd's offers a special "Guest Griller" fundraising program for non-profit organizations. Any interested group should contact Tommy Esper, Hampton general manager, for more information, at (757) 262-1283.
