DEERFIELD TWP. - The Mongolian restaurant going up at the corner of Bowen Drive and Mason-Montgomery Road is aiming for a mid-January opening. The restaurant, bd's Mongolian Grill, was approved by the township earlier this year and will be located in the Shoppes of Deerfield North development. Detroit-based bd's Mongolian Grill opened its first location in 1992 and has grown to more than 30 restaurants in 11 states, according to the company's Web site.
A variety of meats, vegetables, sauces and other foods are prepared stir-fry style, with cooks juggling food between cooking swords over searing hot grills right in front of customers.

Matt Felton, director of marketing for BD's Mongolian Grill, said the family-oriented restaurant will be an experience unique to the Cincinnati area. "It's all about what the guest wants to eat, whatever they want to create," Felton said. Vegetarians and those with food allergies will not be left out - the restaurant will have a special grill to cook for those with special needs and also uses trans-fat free products, he said.

Bob Fischer, franchise owner for the Deerfield Township location, said the restaurant recently received its permits and will open soon, depending on construction schedules. And in an opportune offering considering its location, the restaurant will have a private "Warrior" room with a 50-inch plasma display marketed toward company meetings. "They can come in at 7:30 or 8 in the morning and we'll give them a continental breakfast with Starbucks coffee," Fischer said. "All we ask is that they stay for lunch."
